Frank's Site

Tuesday

I finished Djibouti by Elmore Leonard and Slam by Nick Hornby. Currently reading The Constant Gardener by John le Carré.

I picked up a bunch of books:

I picked The Mists of Avalon out of morbid curiosity. Terminal was a hardcover edition with cool, iridescent cover art. With A Clash of Kings, my set of A Song of Ice and Fire is nearly up to date; I'm only missing part 1 of A Dance with Dragons. I bought The King of Elfland's Daughter, the only non-used book in the list, to satisfy the free shipping requirements for an order on Amazon. I've heard the name Nicholas Sparks, but otherwise don't know anything about him.

I harvested my remaining ten-or-so scallions, and used them in some mac and cheese and fried eggs. They have a light onion flavour with a nice aftertaste. I'm pleased with the results, even though only a couple of them grew well in my planter.

The carrot greens continue to stretch and splay out. When I pulled a carrot last Saturday, the root seemed to be about one quarter "full." Maybe they'll be ready in a week or two?

I am once again stalling on ProdUI development. I guess it's no good stating and restating this, so going forward, I'll only mention the project when I have something that I feel is worth sharing.
